PRIVACY POLICY
General Stars is an independent Gymnastics Dance and Acro Club and we understand that privacy is important to our members. This privacy policy will explain how our club uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.
All personal data will be fully protected under the Data Protection Legislation, the GDPR,and/or to equivalent standards by law.
What do we collect?
Signing up to our membership online allows us to use the data for emergency contacts, classes, updates and membership purposes only.
We use email addresses, names and numbers, date of births, addresses and medical history for our own Club membership. Where we collect any personal data, it will be processed and stored securely, for no longer than is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which it was first collected. We will comply with our obligations and safeguard your rights under the Data Protection Legislation at all times.
Membership for insurance purposes is with UK GYMNASTICS.
When registering or renewing membership with UK GYMNASTICS the following information is essential for the company to be able to provide your membership.
For Gymnast membership this information includes:
· Name of the person completing the registration form.
· Contact details of the person completing the registration form
· Name of the gymnast
· Date of birth of the gymnast
· Name of the club the gymnast attends
When making a purchase via our online store the following information is collected
· Payment and transaction information
This information is not saved by G.Stars Academy
Do You Share My Personal Data?
We will not share any of your personal data with any third parties other than UK GYMNASTICS for membership and insurance purposes.

Safeguarding Policy

General Stars GC are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all our members. The Club believes it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with :

We recognise our duty of care to safeguarding & promoting the welfare of children & young people, & we are committed to aligning our safeguarding practices with government guidance, statutory obligations, & best practices. Recent & historical incidents of abuse within various sports have shed light on the vulnerability of athletes at all levels.

To ensure the safety of children & young people, IGA & its affiliated clubs will:

• Value, listen to, & respect them.
• Appoint designated child protection/safeguarding leads & deputy leads.
• Develop policies & procedures for child protection & safeguarding that adhere to best practices.
• Utilise our safeguarding procedures to share concerns & relevant information with relevant agencies, involving children, young people, parents, families, & carers appropriately.
• Foster an anti-bullying environment & implement a policy & procedure to effectively address any bullying incidents.
• Establish & implement an online safety policy & related procedure.
• Disseminate information about child protection & safeguarding best practices to children, families, staff, & volunteers through leaflets, posters, group activities, & individual discussions.
• Safely recruit staff & volunteers, ensuring necessary checks are carried out.
• Provide adequate management for staff & volunteers through supervision, support, training, & quality assurance measures.
• Enforce a code of conduct for staff & volunteers.
• Follow appropriate procedures when managing allegations against staff & volunteers.
• Implement effective complaint & whistleblowing mechanisms.
• Maintain a safe physical environment for children, young people, staff, & volunteers by adhering to health & safety regulations & guidelines.
• Professionally & securely record & store information in accordance with data protection legislation & guidance.

Class and Event Photo and Video Policy
​
All member once signing up to Gstars Academy have agreed to photos and videos for promotional use.
​
During classes at Gstars, photos and videos are sometimes taken for promotional purposes. These images are checked with additional staff to ensure they are appropriate for social media and other promotional use.
​
Only forenames will ever be used when commenting on photos or videos.
​
For Gstars Events you will be informed if you re allowed to film your gymnasts. Most of our gymnastics competitions you are free to take photos and videos. Otherwise for most dance shows we have a professional camera recording the production and will provide parents with an appropriate video of the show to purchase.

When parents have been given the opportunity to film please ensure before taking any photographs or video footage, consideration should be made to ensuring the safeguarding of all other gymnasts and appropriate control measures should be in place as well as ensuring compliance with applicable Data Protection law. Prior to publication, any imagery must be checked to ensure it is appropriate. If you are posting any of these videos or photos to the internet please ensure you blur out any gymnasts or dancers that are not of your own family, otherwise you may be asked to take these down.

Terms and Conditions for Members
As a member of General Stars GC you are expected to abide by the following club rules:

All members must participate within the rules and respect coaches, judges and their decisions.

All members must respect opponents and fellow club members. Members must not use bad language.

All members once signed up to Gstars Acadmey have accepted and given permission for photos and videos to be taken during classes and events for promotional use only. Photos will always be checked they are appropriate for promotional use. No full names will be displayed with photos.

Fees are paid on a termly basis and members are expected to pay these fees by the due date or additional admin fees of £20 will incur. (Fee letters are given out 4 Weeks before due the date to discuss any available alternative arrangements)

For safety reasons, Members MUST wear suitable attire for training and events as agreed with coach. Training leotards and competition leotards are available to purchase at the Club.

Keep long hair tied back and remove all jewellery.

Members must inform the head coach of any injuries or illness they have before warm up begins.

Members must not eat during session unless on a break (2hr group snack and WATER ONLY No NUTS no chewing gum at any time.

Members must inform the Club of any changes i.e. address, medical and emergency info.

If you have been invited to join a Competition OR dance/Acro performance Squad group all members must participate (where possible) in the annual competitions associated with that group. Members must also agree to extra training sessions over the weekend or during the week when required to. Uniform is also necessary when competing in any outside competition.

REFUND POLICY
-
Fees are non-refundable once paid. We offer a free trial class for all new members. Each term fees are spent on the rent, coach pay, equipment and uniforms, costumes for shows and therefore all funds are used. However when related to injury and you cannot attend classes any left over finances can be used for siblings, used to re join another term or transfer to Acro or Dance class.

NO REFUNDS are given in the event the School premises close out of the gyms control. In this case we will offer a replacement class, which normally take place on Saturday afternoons or if you have already purchased a session on the replacement class day we will give you a discount coupon code for the following term.

All members are required to have IGA Gymnastics and GstarsGC membership, payable on an annual basis. Membership runs out in October each year and is renewed every September. (Membership prices may vary slightly due to inflation) Parents must agree to share data with IGA Gymnastics on the membership form. This payment is also NON REFUNDABLE.
